Lammnings- och avlivningskurs
Lantbruksenheten på Länsstyrelsen i Halland anordnar Avlivnings- och Lammningskurs den 18 januari 2011 i Tvååker.
Kursen ger kunskap om hur avlivningen ska utföras på ett säkert sätt och vad man ska tänka på inför lammningen samt studiebesök hos Österöö fårfarm.
Medverkan av fårhälsoveterinär Karin Lindqvist Frisk, lammrådgivare Birgit Fag och lantbrukare Ulrika Algothsson
Kostnad: 300 SEK exkl. moms

New sheep literature - Sheep Health, Husbandry and Disease: A Photographic Guide
Agnes C Winter's new book Sheep Health, Husbandry and Disease: A Photographic Guide
will be released Jan 24, 2011.
Co-written with Clare Phythian, the book aims to give a veterinary view on disease and welfare issues through detailed photographs including practical tasks such as how to check teeth, feet and udders, vaccination schedules, injection techniques and parasite control.

Agnes C Winter is a specialist sheep vet and the past President of the Sheep Veterinary Society, President of the Wensleydale Longwool Sheep Breeder's Association and Vice President of the European College of Small Ruminant Health Management. She is now Honorary Professor of the Veterinary School at The University of Liverpool where she worked for 25 years before retiring in 2008.

Modern holiday apartment for rent in typical Swiss mountain village
Comfortable, large 4-room apartment (100 m²) in a traditional old Swiss farm house located on a sunny south-exposed mountain, in the village of Villars-Burquin, Switzerland.
Featuring a garden surrounded by numerous fruit trees and meadows, the magnificent view combines the Neuchâtel lake together with an outsight on the Swiss Alps.
The kitchen is equipped with ceramic glass hob, full oven, dishwasher, fridge, coffee machine, toaster, wooden dining table (6 to 8 guests, baby chair available) and a lot more. Sleeping capacity is 1 master bedroom (queen size bed) and 2 single bed rooms. The living room also features a large sofa-bed. Bathroom/WC. Bed and bath linen, kitchen towels, iron, ironing board, cleaning products, vacuum cleaner. Private parking, separate entrance, Broadband wifi Internet connection available.
Smoking prohibited and no pets allowed. Car is a must. Laundry facilities and final cleaning service at extra charge.

Farm tenant: Home made jam, organic vegetables (pots), season products (fruits, vegetables)
Grocery store, Fromagerie (fresh milk, swiss cheese, bread, regional products) and Chinese restaurant in the village.
